When I was living in my country, I used to go swimming every day before I moved to United States. Swimming is the only sport I enjoy although some people might argue that it is not considered as a sport. Nonetheless, it sure make me work out and I really enjoy being in the pool.
Back in my country, I used to have a swimming buddy who was also my childhood friend. She and I were competitive partners. We would always have friendly races like how many laps we could swim within 10 minutes and so on.
I completely stopped swimming when I came to US....Perhaps I haven't found a swimming buddy and don't want to go alone? I am not sure what the reason is but I do seriously miss swimming in the pool. I miss my swimming buddy. I miss our friendly competitive races. :(
Swimming is the best. When I was a kids, I would go swimming to the local public pool every day of the summer. Well, I didn't actually swim laps, because the pool was packed. It was more jumping off the high diving board, hoping you didn't crash into anyone below, a lot of splashing, and underwater swimming. It was the best. I haven't gone swimming in ages, but every now and then I go to the beach (very early in the morning--like 5:30 AM) on a Saturday or Sunday and get in. Yes, the water is always cold, but it is one of the most exhilarating sensations.
ReplyDeleteSwimming is not only a sport but it is consider to be one of the most complete sports since most parts of your body are in constant movement. When my children were younger, I used to take them to swimming lessons. They are not experts swimmers but they learned the basics. If you want to get back into swimming, You may want to go to exposition park. They have a nice swimming pool that was used during the Olympics games in Los Angeles.
ReplyDeleteWe've got a big swimming pool not far from here. It's called the Pacific Ocean. Maybe you could even try surfing. One of our classmates already does.
